25th ANNUAL ORGANIZED CRIME DRUG ENFORCEMENT TASK FORCE (OCDETF) FEDERAL/STATE DRUG INVESTIGATION TRAINING CONFERENCE

NOVEMBER 15-17, 2022

This year’s conference will be held at the beautiful Landmark Resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Once again, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of South Carolina is cosponsoring our conference. Additionally, conference co-sponsors are the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the North Carolina Justice Academy, Regional Organized Crime Information Center (ROCIC) and the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association.

We have a dynamic agenda with a mix of nationally known experts and practitioners working narcotics trafficking in North & South Carolina. We will have a case study of the Pulse Nightclub Shooting from two Orlando Police Officers who responded to the scene. North Carolina Department of Public Safety Secretary Eddie Buffaloe will share his experiences in building bridges between law enforcement and communities.

We will build on our successful use of breakout sessions tailored to specific tools of the narcotics officers’ trade. Breakout sessions will be conducted Tuesday afternoon and throughout the day Wednesday. This year each North & South Carolina U.S. Attorney’s Office will have a breakout with agents from their Districts to allow you to interact with federal prosecutors who will handle your cases. Click HERE for a complete list of topics. Valuable topics offered during the breakout sessions include How to Investigate an Overdose Death Case, Individual Responsibilities on Undercover Operation, Basic Financial Investigation Techniques for Narcotic Agents, Cybercrime Investigations, and a couple of case studies on narcotics and gangs. This conference is designed to teach new material to both conference alumni and first- time attendees, with a focus on building investigations that target federal crimes. Sheriffs, DAs, and Police Chiefs are encouraged to attend with their drug units. Assistant District Attorneys and Solicitors are also encouraged to attend this training.  Seating is limited, so please register early.
